Hermes Desktop: Nous's AI Agent Gets an App

Nous Research has released Hermes Desktop, a native macOS, Windows, and Linux app that finally gives its open-source Hermes AI agent a graphical interface.

Nous Research has given its Hermes agent something it never had before: a window.

This week the open-source lab released Hermes Desktop, a native app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Until now, running Hermes meant working through a command line or a chat gateway. Now it has a proper graphical interface.

The release is in public preview, which is a polite way of saying expect rough edges.

A quick definition, because it matters here. Hermes is an AI agent, not a chatbot. A chatbot answers questions. An agent plans, takes actions, calls tools, and keeps working across a task without you steering every step. Hermes is open-source and released under the MIT licence, so anyone can inspect it, run it themselves, or modify it.
