Most people using AI video tools are still doing it the slow way. Generate a shot. Tweak it. Generate the next one. Stitch everything together in post. Repeat until you've burned through your credits and your patience.

There's a better approach — and it's the one that's been going viral for good reason.

The workflow: generate a single storyboard image, then feed that storyboard into an AI video model to generate a complete multi-shot sequence in one pass. One image in. A full scene out.

Think of the storyboard as a visual instruction sheet for the video model. Instead of asking an AI video tool to invent the whole scene from a text prompt, you show it the sequence first — the opening shot, the close-up, the action, the reveal, the ending. The clearer the storyboard, the better the model understands what to make.

For the video generation stage, there are a number of different models and platforms you can use — Gen-4.5, Seedance 2.0, Kling, Veo, and others — and they all have their own strengths and drawbacks depending on the style you're going for. For the sake of this guide I'm using Runway, because it gives me access to multiple models in one place, which makes it easier to compare and switch without jumping between tools.
